Be The Change You Want To See

I get posts every 3 minutes on self motivation, staying inspired & being happy always.

But, what I don't read often enough about is this- BEING THE CHANGE (I personally feel there isn't an 'enough' of this we can get).



After attending a panel discussion this morning, I realized that if I don't be the change, things may never change.

And this thought is far larger than what it is summarized to be in this sentence!



With emminent panelists with more experience than me, I was exposed to thoughts on what is the India growth story and India's future. With so many experiences that contributed to the discussion, it was evident that India is at a juncture today- not only politically but as people & industries of our economy.

Manufacturing is the pillar of growth, services will grow along with it, and urbanization is a result of all of this.

And this is not only a story of hope, or an emerging India, or an India growing but an India with urgent issues to attend to! 

How many of us ask "why' or 'how'? Because in the 'why' lies the rationale behind a thought and in how lies on executing this thought. So when a LOT is being done, how do we not KNOW?



It is not being communicated enough.The difference between a developed nation and a developing one is the AWARENESS FACTOR. If we had enough sign boards, we would find our destination. :)



At the core of India's issues of limited fascilities, demanding social responsibilities, effects of poverty,lack of education & so many more... there lies a common factor: PEOPLE.



Someone said to me yesterday, what is the last NEW thing that you did?If ALL of thought this way, then, we would be a nation of not only thinkers but also DOERS.



As a marketeer finding my ground, I am convinced that the answer lies in COMMUNICATION.By this I mean, building literacy and awareness- and I don't refer to being SOCIALLY RESPONSIBLE but just RESPONSIBLE.

If all the efforts that the people of India are putting in were being COMMUNICATED effectively to build AWARENESS, we would be well on our way as a country.



Every little thing that is done, deserves to be talked about. And when we as PEOPLE of India understand and have KNOWLEDGE of it, we will be an AWARE society. And an AWARE society gives a happy beginning to the India Growth Story.



I feel marketeers and communicaters should contribute their knowledge towards this as a beginning.

Spend a few hours a week, or do a project that isn't about profits but about knowledge sharing to build awareness & be the change. Because this is OUR responsibility.



As marketeers we NEED to help India COMMUNICATE effectively.
